With the Juvenile Owls leaving the area and the burrowing owls not showing up until mid October, I was not sure how I was going to run my tours.

But this evening with Nancy, Jack, Ray and Lisette turned out to be an amazing tour and we saw 4 different owls at 4 different locations!

First, we saw a great horned owl at one location, still not sure if juvenile or adult but leaning on adult with the white fur/feathers around the throat area.

Then a Western Screech owl in a roof eaves. (not pictured but can see in other posts)

Then a barn owl sitting in its regular roosting spot in a tree. (not pictured but can see in other posts)

Then we saw an adult great horned owl land on a large and freshly bloomed Crepe Myrtle tree and watched it take off.

And lastly, we watched the barn owl take off for the evening.

Adult or Juvenile?

A very kind neighbor told me about an owl that shows up on a lamp post near his house at 7:53pm so the next night, I showed up and there it was. This was probably the 3rd or 4th time I saw this one and this time, it decided to show up on the Crepe Myrtle across the street from the light post. It was a great Owl Tour bonus for me and my customers!

We waited and watched the barn owl take off from its roost. It's so hard to capture in flight shots like this since it usually takes off around 30 minutes after sunset but somehow I got this one on this evening.

Thank you to Nancy for my first Yelp review!!
