In December 2021, I went to Coyote Hills in Fremont to get my very first pictures of Owls. Lots of waiting around in the cold for a few hours and once I was ready to give up and leave after the sun went down, the owls came out. First a Barn Owl then a Long Eared Owl. Amazing experience!!

First the Barn Owl came out so I ran down to get these shots:

After getting the shots of the Barn Owl, I was pretty satisfied so I started walking back to the car but saw this Long Eared Owl (LEO) after I passed a large tree.

Feeling totally satisfied, I put my lens cover on and headed for my car. Along the path, all of a sudden I saw the same LEO on a fence post. I startled it and it took off but it circled back to another fence post so I walked toward it and got this pic at a very low shutter speed and very high ISO6400. What an amazing evening!!
