This was the day two of the great horned owls came down from their nest, which was very high up in an Eucalyptus tree. I spent 20 minutes looking for the owls and it turns out they were down in a bush just staring at me while I was looking for them.

Jon from our group came and grabbed me and pointed out the two owlets sitting in a bush at eye level.

It was also the first time I had ever seen the Western Screech Owl out of it's tree nest opening! Usually it just pops out of the tree hole then stays there before taking off then is gone within a second.

This was a very exciting day with the owlets with Jon, Jennifer and Joan.
