February 2024 - Birding on Oahu: Parakeets

We spent a week in Waikiki, Oahu. This was the first time we did not rent a car to venture out into the island so we just stayed in the Waikiki area.

There was a park next to our hotel where I spent some time with some Ring-necked Parakeets. They are pretty fast birds, but I caught this one in flight.

From what I understand, a parakeet is a small to medium size type of parrot.
