Every April, the colorful Lazuli Buntings arrive in the Bay Area. This seems to be a target species for all the bird photographers because of their beautiful colors and their limited time with us.
I had a really fun time photographing these beautiful birds with my friend Richard. It was my first Lazuli Bunting sighting ever.
These are adult breeding males and are small finchlike songbirds. They typically show up in our area in April and stay until early June.
Big thanks to my friend Richard for taking me out to see them! 🙏

Western Kingbird on a wire, another first for me.
